Christmas with Dad

We began our Winnipeg Christmas with a laughter-filled dinner at Ichi-Ban where we brushed up on our egg-catching skills! The food was delicious and our chef Roger kept us chuckling with his food related antics! We then went to the Hilton where we had planned to relax in the hot tub (a plan that we make every year and never wind up following through on!!) but instead relaxed in the room and chit chatted over munchies.

mmmmmm

Gin shrimp, smoked salmon sushi roll-ups, 7 layer taco dip, and egg rolls! Gotta love the Christmas Eve spread at mom's house!

The biggest and bestest gift of all! I love my family!

Momma's got her girls back!

And they brought their men - strong like bull!

The fire is a-glow and outside snow is gently falling. Abby is curled up next to the warmth beside the tree and the table is set with beautiful china and treasured dishes. It is Christmas morning and after Louise's reading of the Christmas Story and the passing of gifts, we sit down to Wife Saver Pie and a delicious raisin dotted oatmeal bake. Mmmmm. Home is certainly where the heart is, but in this case, home is here.

Aren't they adorable?! Someone that Jer works with is giving these away and I can't help but think how fun it would be to have a little rasacal to play with!

The boys both received the infamous 'bbq- illumintor-chapeau-extraodinaire' for Christmas this year! Ryan with his duo-lit baseball cap and Jeremy with his ear-flapped Elmer Fudd tri-lit
(with  options!!) version.  As Jeremy boasts, you gotta put in your time for this one! Here's to you, Ryan and your future flannel flapped hat! Where's the wabbit, Jerry?

Home for Christmas

Donning red from head to toe (and standing beneath the mistletoe) we brought with us snow and here's what I know. We love you and miss you and will return soon, find comfort in knowing we're beneath the same moon.

Goodnight.

(More pictures to come!)

Happy Birthday, Andrew!!

To celebrate the birth of our dear friend Andrew, we (meaning his amazingly gifted party planning wife) threw him an 80's themed surprise birthday party! Complete with Twister, 80's dance tunes leggings, tight jeans and side ponytails - we, yet again, danced in the living room 'til the wee hours of the night!

Gotta love the neon colours and leggings!

Jer and I made our own homemade leg warmers!

And to think... I actually wear that head band to the gym.... perhaps I need to reconsider?!
