The much anticipated trip to the selection centre was finally scheduled for this past week. We were able to pick out everything from flooring to electrical sockets - a task that was not taken lightly! After weeks of sifting through House & Home, doing online research and visiting the Interior Design show, we were (well, lets be honest, Robin was) rarin' and ready to go! Our 6 hour appointment was broken up in a series of evenings, producing the following palette of choices.

Ceramic tile in a grey/brown for the front and back entrance as well as all three bathrooms. 
The doorknob for the front and back door. 
Kitchen countertops
The suite. Hardwood for the main floor and carpet for the upstairs (staircase and three bedrooms).  The dark wood cabinet for the bathroom vanities, the white cabinet for the kitchen -  accented by white subway tile with a dove grey grout for definition. (Both cabinets faced in a shaker style).

our first 'friends' thanksgiving

We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner, complete with roasted lamb, sultry wine and a full table with lots of chatter. All of us were from cities other than Edmonton, (as far away as the east coast) away from our families and living and working in Edmonton.  It was great to come together for this all important holiday.  We went around the table to do the classic 'what are you thankful for' offering, all saying something related to our opportunities at the present time. This is a good city, giving us both something that we couldn't have in Winnipeg (career wise, might I add). We miss home, terribly, but maybe if I talk it up enough our table will grow for next year...?!!

Robin's first NHL Game

Needless to say, Jeremy is pumped about being in an NHL city! And lucky for us, we have golden connections to getting our bums in those seats. Thank you,  Manders.  

Police Officer Memorial

My first time seeing Jeremy in his dress uniform, the RCMP, Military and Police Force paraded into a field on the Legislature grounds, where fallen officers were commemorated and honoured. This was a somber day, but I was filled with pride. 

Farmer's Market

My favourite thing to do on a Saturday morning is make a fresh mug of french pressed coffee, grab my camera and head out to either the St. Albert or Old Strathcona farmer's markets. I would bet I've been to the market three out of four Saturdays a month. As much as I love coming back with a bag stuffed with greens and crisp veggies, I much prefer to come back with a memory card loaded with new profiles, ideas  or priceless moments captured.

Recap

For just about three weeks after Jeremy departed for Edmonton, I was left to close up shop on St. Mary's Road. We totaled close to 60 boxes and zipped through 9 rolls of packing tape. Soundtrack to this phase: Rolling Stones and Coldplay. Oh, and inspiring chatter with V as we pounded the pavement together.
